Reform Efforts

Teacher/Leadership Preparation

  • The New York-CEEDAR team strives to promote and support inclusive settings across special education, general education, and leadership on the preservice to in-service continuum. The NY-CEEDAR team created an inclusive practices guidance document with recommendations and specific contextual needs that drive the reform with partnering IHEs. Additionally, the NY-CEEDAR team selected HLPs that also guide the reform work at participating institutions.\

Preparation Program Evaluation/Approval

  • The New York-CEEDAR team strives to ensure state policies and systems promote and support inclusive settings across special education, general education, and leadership on the preservice to in-service continuum. The NY-CEEDAR SLT works to ensure systems and structures exist to provide data to IHEs that can assist them in improving the effectiveness of teacher and leader preparation programs that prepare candidates for inclusive settings. The team also works to ensure teacher preparation program requirements support inclusive settings across special education, general education, and leadership.
