CEEDAR Efforts in Rhode Island:
The Rhode Island Department of Education is partnering with 6 Rhode Island educator preparation programs (EPPs) to participate in a collaborative, professional learning opportunity with select local educational agencies (LEAs) and educational organizations. One of the main objectives of this collaboration are to enact processes that guide governance and implementation of strong clinical partnerships across Rhode Island. This will ensure that program completers and current practicing educators are prepared to design and deliver effective, culturally responsive education using high quality curriculum materials, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Rhode Island’s CEEDAR blueprint is focused on four areas:
1) Continuous improvement
2) Mutually beneficial partnerships
3) Equity and access
4) Literacy & dyslexia, leveraged by the Rhode Island Right to Read Act
