Goal 1: Innovative approaches for preparing inclusive leaders for all students

This session describes how Ohio and Connecticut have worked to develop inclusive leaders to support all students. Ohio has recently implemented a leadership program at the Ed.D., and Connecticut has developed a pilot to support quality internship experiences for students with disabilities and English Language Learners (ELLs).

Goal 1: Building capacity through CEEDAR-UCEA partnership: Effective preparation and practice opportunities for inclusive leaders

In this session, participants will be provided with a preview of the newly refreshed inclusive CEEDAR leadership Innovation Configuration and have an opportunity to discuss how CEEDAR and UCEA are partnering to improve preparation and practice for inclusive leaders.

Goal 1: ‘I’ is for induction: Strategies for dissemination and implementation in Mississippi and New Hampshire

In this session, New Hampshire will share the process of developing a state survey and how data were used to identify Six Pillars that are being used as the basis for resource development. Mississippi will share about the collaborative development and statewide dissemination of an Induction Toolkit.

Goal 2: Tracking and evaluating the impact of policy: Where do we start?

One of the four priority goal areas for CEEDAR 3.0 is to improve state teams’ capacity to track and evaluate the impact of policy on the ability to attract, prepare, and sustain teachers and leaders. Whether you are a policy novice or a policy pro, join for us a discussion about measuring the impact of policy on personnel preparation systems.

In this session, Georgia and Arizona will discuss strategies to recruit, prepare, and retain teachers and leaders. Georgia will discuss how it has used mini-grants, and Arizona will discuss its Teacher Empowerment Project that involves LEAs sharing data and resources.

Goal 4: Planting seeds to support scale-up: Implementing mini-grant competitions in Kentucky and Tennessee

Tennessee and Kentucky will share about the implementation of mini-grants to scale up EPPs participating with their SLTs. Each state will provide details of current reform efforts at the new EPPs.

Goal 1: How to use HLPs to identify needs and supports for the field

Presenters:

In this session, Utah will be describing how working with five prioritized HLPs has helped to identify areas where more professional learning is needed and how the EPPs, SEAs, and LEAs have coordinated to address these needs. Georgia will share the HLP case studies they have created and describe how they are using these in EPPs in the state.

Goal 1: Collaboration for promoting education preparation reform

In this session, participants will learn from Connecticut practitioners about resources to assist districts and teacher preparation programs with the placement of teacher candidates, as well as Connecticut’s EPP partners, providing an overview of the induction modules and HLPs crosswalk. Washington will share how they used a mini-tag to strengthen the use of HLPs in the instructional process.

Goal 1: Supporting faculty in Arizona and Colorado to implement best practices in coursework and field experiences

In this session, Arizona will discuss the development, implementation, and evaluation of a book study on HLPs that was conducted across EPPs from multiple programs. Colorado will share resources from three successive rounds of faculty-led projects to integrate evidence-based and high-leverage practices into course experiences.

Goal 1: The roadmap to quality educator preparation: An introduction to BranchEd’s signature framework

In this session, participants will learn how Branch Alliance for Educator Diversity’s (BranchED) uses six principles to engage in educational equity work with educator preparation programs. Specifically, BranchEd assists with creating a common vision of what high-quality, culturally sustaining educator preparation is and a coherent and sustained approach to implementing evidence-based high leverage preparation practices.

In this session, Mississippi will share how data from their residency program can assist in informing the effectiveness of policy. HECSE will provide a link to how state efforts, such as in Mississippi, helps to inform critical policy and funding decisions at the national/federal level.

Goal 3: Pathways to the profession: Providing opportunities for paraeducators

In this session, state team members from Vermont and Florida will share how they are providing pathways for paraeducators to become certified teachers. The Vermont team will share how such programs leverage collaborative relationships between EPPs and SEAs while the Florida team will share how such programs can be developed and evaluated.

Goal 3: Approaches for improving the quality and diversity of the educator workforce

This session explores how Ohio and Minnesota have worked to address the quality and diversity of the educator workforce. Ohio will describe partnership work between several EPPs and LEAs to develop a comprehensive model to address these needs. Minnesota will then describe virtual programming in progress to diversify and attract individuals to the profession.

Goal 4: Partnering for personnel development: Multi-tiered systems approaches to improving outcomes in New York and Rhode Island

In this session, participants will learn how two state teams are promoting sustainability and scale-up through alignment of educator preparation and LEA efforts. New York will share how EPPs are using a state- developed MTSS Innovation Configuration to collect data and revise programs aligned with their State Personnel Development Grant efforts. Rhode Island will share about the development and implementation of two tiered resources aimed at strengthening partnerships between EPPs and LEAs.

Goal 4: Leveraging cross-agency collaboration and funding for sustainability

In this session, the California team will discuss how they leverage multiple agencies and groups to ensure that the CEEDAR work is aligned and sustained. The Mississippi team will share how they leverage multiple funding sources to ensure reform efforts are scaling and sustaining.
