About the Convening

The CEEDAR Center and the IRIS Center are collaborating to plan, implement, and evaluate a convening of CEEDAR Intensive Technical Assistance (TA) States with a particular focus on improving the quality of personnel preparation programs for teachers and leaders.

Session topic highlights include:

  • What does it take for teacher and leader candidates and novices to be effective? High Leverage Practices (HLPs) and Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) in action
  • Defining and conceptualizing MTSS and contextualizing HLPs and EBPs across general, special, and leadership education
  • Increasing preparation program faculty and other providers’ capacity to design practice opportunities
  • Curricular and programmatic review and reform
  • Aligning statewide efforts to improve capacity: High-leverage strategies for scale up
